Since our founding in 2022, following the merger of Groenland and L&M Groep, we have made significant progress. Under the leadership of John Celie and Jan-Willem Leeuwenburg as co-CEOs, and Lennard Leeuwenburg as COO, we have unified into a strong organization that supplies flowers and plants directly from the source to retailers, wholesalers, and consumers worldwide.
With the shift in leadership, John Celie will confidently hand over his role as co-CEO, making way for the next generation of leaders. John will continue to offer his experience and expertise to support and advise One Flora Group. Over the past thirty years, John has left his mark on the floriculture industry. He founded Celieplant in 1994, launched Groenland in 2012, and was a key figure in the merger with L&M Groep, which led to the creation of One Flora Group.
John Celie commented: "Since the founding of Celieplant 30 years ago, I have always been focused on the future and have constantly strived for growth, both in business and in people. Now is the time for me to pass on my knowledge and experience to the next generation of leaders. I am extremely proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to continuing to contribute to the success and growth of One Flora Group in an advisory role."
Jan-Willem Leeuwenburg, co-CEO of One Flora Group, who has led our company alongside John Celie for the past two years, emphasized: "John has led our company in an exceptional way. His years of experience and commitment to continuous improvement have greatly contributed to the development of One Flora Group into what it is today. We are grateful for his dedication."
In addition to Jan-Willem Leeuwenburg, Lennard Leeuwenburg, formerly COO, will take on the role of co-CEO. Nick Tol, former Managing Director of Ruigrok Groep, will be appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Sven Aertssen, previously Managing Director Flowers at One Flora Group, will join the executive team as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Ronald Haarman, will succeed Aertssen as Managing Director Flowers. Sam van Tol will continue to serve as Managing Director Plants.
Our full executive team consists of: Jan Willem Leeuwenburg (co-CEO), Lennard Leeuwenburg (co-CEO), Sven Aertssen (CCO), IJsbrand Guijt (CSO), Maarten Ober (CFO), and Nick Tol (COO).
In line with the leadership changes, we have also adjusted our organizational structure with the goal of creating an even more transparent, efficient, and sustainable flower and plant supply chain. We call this 'Next Level Floriculture,' where we will work even more closely with growers and customers to elevate the entire floriculture industry to a higher level.
