The family business has over 45 years of growing experience and manages the entire process from seed or cutting to the final product in-house. Optimal sales, maximum shelf profitability, and a consumer who returns year after year are key focus points where Baas Nursery and Celieplant find common ground in their collaboration. In this article, we ask Dieter Baas, General Director of Baas Nursery, about our partnership.

Ronico has grown into the world’s leading tulip brand over 85 years. Together with customers and partners, they spread the beauty of tulips to as many people as possible. Ronico has worked with L&M Rijnsburg for more than 15 years.

Colorpack is a collective of tulip growers. Established in 2008, six tulip growers and two packing locations collaborate to grow and package 200 million tulip stems per year. The driving thought behind the collective is that together you stand stronger. Since 2010, there has been collaboration with Bloominess.

In our annual report, we reflect on our first full year as One Flora Group, following the merger of Groenland and L&M Group. 2023 was a year of significant changes and progress.

One Flora Group establishes the new company Zami Africa. This step makes it possible to export summer flowers and roses directly from Nairobi to customers all over the world. This achieves a sustainable efficiency gain that fits in with the 'Next Level Floriculture' vision of One Flora Group.

One Flora Group (OFG) and Plantify Partners Europe (PPE), the parent company of Royal Lemkes and Floréac, intend to launch a joint plant fulfilment company. The name of the new organisation will be: Fulfilment Plants Europe (FPE). Through the formation of Fulfilment Plants Europe, One Flora Group and Plantify Partners Europe are pooling their expertise to add maximum value to their customers, suppliers, webshops and marketplaces, as a European fulfilment service provider. Both groups already had e-fulfilment solutions with the companies FNQ (One Flora Group) and Reguardz (Plantify Partners Europe).

As the international figurehead for Dutch horticulture, Keukenhof is the go-to place where the entire horticultural sector is showcased in all its glory. The entire floriculture sector also comes together in One Flora Group. In the wonderful world of flowers and plants, we aim to align supply and demand and create growth through collaboration. As such, One Flora Group has been a proud partner of Keukenhof for many years.

Zami BV is a trading company that specialises in import and sales of a broad range of summer flowers. These flowers are supplied by growers from all around the world, from Africa to South America. Through these growers, Zami delivers directly to exporters, wholesalers and bouquet shops. So, how does that work in practice? And how has the company changed through the years? This is twenty years of Zami in pictures.

Plants rather than flowers. Celieplant is the only company within One Flora Group that specialises exclusively in plants. From small succulents to large palms, up to two metres tall. Moreover, it is the oldest company within the former Groenland. Founded in 1994 by John Celie, Celieplant has developed into one of the largest plant suppliers for the retail industry. Sam van Tol is proud of where the company is today. What distinguishes Celieplant?

A great milestone: during the first week of January, we got the keys to our new premises. There will be a lot of remodelling going on in the coming months in order to enable us to move into Laan van Verhof 63 in Rijnsburg before the summer.

One Flora Group has struck up a partnership with Swedish company OptiBoost. OptiBoost developed a unique machine which uses nanotechnology and vacuum infusion to impregnate cut flowers with valuable nutrients. This treatment improves the life of flowers and makes them stronger. Besides less waste, it also creates new, more sustainable possibilities for storage and transportation.

L&M Rijnsburg was founded in 1948, nearly 75 years ago. Flower buyers Joost Leeuwenburg Sr., Frans Kiel and Jan Mooten decided to join forces in Rijnsburg, a village known for its flowers. KLM Bloemen was born. Two generations later, the company is still going strong. Although Joost Leeuwenburg Jr. handed over the torch to his three sons in 2018, he continues to be involved from the sidelines, as a proud father and flower man. How does he look back on those many years?

As of 1 November, One Flora Group and Nic den Heijer have been intensifying their collaboration. Both companies are thriving in the segments in which they operate and see this closer collaboration as a logical step in joining forces making the chain more efficient.

Today, 7 October, marks exactly 100 days since One Flora Group saw the light of day. We announced the merger of Groenland and L&M Group on 28 June. From that day, the companies decided to move forward together to create a smarter supply chain. So much has happened since that day. Jan Willem Leeuwenburg, and John Celie look back and, also ahead to the future.

Doing what you are good at works, the old adage, certainly applies to the collaboration between Marginpar and Zami, which was announced last year. Whereas Marginpar specialises in growing unique summer flowers year-round, Zami knows how to respond to the needs of European retail.

As of 1 July 2022, Connecting Lilies has joined One Flora Group. With the arrival of Connecting Lilies, our group has now added a second major player in the field of lilies. Together with Lilies Direct, we ensure improved efficiency in the chain and better geographical spread in our sales opportunities. With this collaboration, our group has become the largest provider of lilies.
